The Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS)

The Victorian Essential Learning Standards, known as VELS, provide an excellent example of a planning document, and include a explanation of stages of learning useful to the new teacher in the classroom.

A good example is the link to the English page which includes links to the English standards table. This table provides guidance on achievement levels for every year, and used carefully could be of assistance when preparing reports and planning lessons.
